I'm a muslim girl, who's still in highschool, and living in NYC.I had started this account on August 20, 2022. At the time, I was just posting content related to anime.My first post was a quote in Arabic, followed by the english translation on the bottom. The photo in the background was some character from an anime I used to love, in tears.Thankfully I grew out of that phase.I was very much into a lot of anime and manga. My sister also pushed me to start an instagram account so I thought I could mix anime and islamic reminders into one.Shortly after, I started creating reels as well. I would put clips of animated scenery in the background, with an islamic speaker as the audio, and captions to help others understand.I soon found out that this was haram. Let me explain.Many of the anime that are released today include sexualized female bodies, explicit scenes, smoking/drug abuse, glorification of violence, magic, shirk, idol worshipping, etc.Of course not all of the anime content displays this. However, it is better for us muslims to avoid these types of content entirely, as it goes against islamic teachings on modesty, morality, and time management.The prophet ﷺ said:
"The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to make the like of Allah's creations."[Sahih al-Bukhari 5954]The prophet ﷺ said:
"Don't you know that angels do not enter a house wherein there are pictures; and whoever makes a picture will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be asked to give life to (what he has created)?"[Sahih al-Bukhari 3224]Some scholars did say that it was permissible to use animated scenery backgrounds as long as there were no eyes visible.Now obviously if you are someone who enjoys watching animated films, I'm not going to stop you from watching it, this is just an opinion based on my perspective. But there are better things you can do with that time, such as reading qur'an, daily dhikr, seeking knowledge, making du'a, etc.Anyways, back to the topic. After noticing this, I decided to step away from it and start doing something new. I didn’t want to risk anything in this dunya for the akhirah.I soon shifted to an entirely different niche. I replaced those scenes with stock videos from the internet.I got used to this and kept on consistently posting for a few months.Now theres a reason why these videos don't perform well most of the time. They are very common.Therefore, I noticed my content wasn’t performing as well as I wanted it to.So I switched things up again.Whenever I went outside, I would take footage of anything that looked visually appealing.I replaced stock videos with my own clips.100k views.Kept on consistently posting.50k views.Although my reach slowly started to pick up, it sort of went back down the drain.At the time, I absolutely HATED how 4:3 reels looked like. 4:3 reels are those reels that have black on the top and bottom and the media is usually displayed in the center.I thought it took away the “good parts” of the background clips because of how small the frame was.I thought why not give it a try, and I posted a video with a 4:3 frame.1M views.tried it again.2M views.and this is how I ended up to where I'm at now.After continuously posting everyday, I had an audience of 100k+ followers within just 3 months.When I first started my account, I was VERY inconsistent.There were times I would post a lot and times that I would not post at all. I would take very long unnecessary breaks(we are talking about months of no posting), due to the loss of motivation and dicipline.if I had posted consistently from day 1, I would've 100% have a much larger audience and impact.
